  • 30-60% of urban fresh water is used for watering lawns (depending on the city).
  • $5.25 billion per year is spend on fossil fuel-derived fertilizers for U.S. lawns.
  • 67 million lbs. of synthetic pesticides are used on U.S. lawns per year.
  • 580 million gallons of gasoline per year are used for lawnmowers.
