Applications for Connecticut Projects

Connecticut NRCS encourages eligible partners to apply for the Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI) Grants. Proposals should support the priorities of the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) or Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP), including reduction of non-point source pollution, reduction of groundwater contamination, reduction of point sources such as contamination from confined animal feeding operations; conservation of ground and surface water resources; reduction of emissions, reduction in soil erosion and sedimentation on agricultural land, energy and climate change, carbon sequestration, forestry and promotion of at-risk species habitat conservation.

The purposes of a CCPI partnership agreement are to: (1) Address conservation priorities involving agriculture and nonindustrial private forest land (2) to encourage producers to cooperate in meeting regulatory requirements related to production; (3) to encourage producers to cooperate in the installation and maintenance of conservation practices that affect multiple agricultural or nonindustrial private forest land; and (4) to promote the development and demonstration of innovative conservation practices and delivery methods, including those for specialty crop and organic production and precision agriculture producers.

Applications for Multi-State Projects

Multi-state CCPI partnership proposals will be sent the NRCS Chief for consideration in a national evaluation process. Multi-state proposals must be accompanied by a letter of review from each of the NRCS State Conservationists included in the proposal. The State Conservationists' letters of review must be sent to the NRCS Chief no later than May 8, 2009. See the national CCPI website for complete information on multi-state proposals.
