The GLOBE ProgramWhat is the Focus?The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) is an international K-12 Environmental Science and Education Program. Currently, more than 13,000 schools in over 100 countries participate – including 168 schools in Connecticut. GLOBE students have made over 10 million measurements in atmosphere, hydrology, land cover/biology, and soils. What Does NRCS Offer?Train-the-trainer workshops. What is an Example of the GLOBE Program?A GLOBE Train-the-Trainer Workshop was held in Wooster, Ohio. Teachers from around the United States were trained in soils protocols including soil characterization, moisture, temperature, pH, fertility, bulk density, and participe size distribution. The teachers, who will train local teachers and students, learned to make maps and graphs from the student data archived on the GLOBE website.
