  • Good Horse Keeping II: Five Ways to Reduce Pollution (DVD format) -- Focuses on how to install best management practices on horse farms including manure management, runoff management, pasture management, composting and stream protection.
  • Good Horse Keeping (VHS format) -- A horse manure management video produced by the Horse Environmental Awareness Program (HEAP), which features Connecticut horse owners and experts sharing their success stories about manure management. Horse owners express their concerns for environmental protection through good horse keeping, discuss water quality, and show practices (including composting, manure storage, and barnyard runoff control) they have used at their stables to keep the water clean.

These productions, produced through grants from the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service, are available to pony clubs, 4-H horse clubs, and other interested horse groups and individuals throughout the state. They are free, and can be obtained (while they last) by calling the King's Mark Resource Conservation and Development Office at (203) 284-3663.
